0.30.0

New version keeps crashing on me.  The download threads don't appear to be as responsive in updating their status  Using unlimited speeds on 2 download servers.  I'm going to try reducing the speed to see if it is any better.

What if you do a fresh install? (backup current installation to revert to that install)
What is your download speed?

I went back to the previous version and the same problem.  I have Vista 64-bit 8 GIG RAM and a 20 MB Cable and a 1.5MB DSL on the same system.  I am downloading some 20MB-40MB blu-ray movies and anything over 50% speed will crash my system.  Max download speed is configured to be 1500 KB/s...  Also whenever I specify anything over 0 MB for Maximum memory cache size - won't stick - it is always 0.

I have 2 Servers and connections specified as:
Powerusenet - 12 connections (primary)
Giganews - 12 connections (backup)
Giganews - 8 connections (Primary)
SSL on all.

Any thoughts???

Why are you running 20 connections? To max a 20 mbit line you prob only need 5-6 threads going. Reduce the threads and see if you still have the same problem.

Assuming that you didn't see crashes at these speeds before upgrading, and assuming that nothing has changed on your system, and assuming that this applies to any and all downloads, etc etc, I'd follow Ascathon's advice and do a clean reinstall - removing any crap from your user directory, re-adding any antivirus or firewall exceptions, etc.  Hard to know what else to suggest without any more specific information ...

Is it only cache settings that won't save, or all settings?  If the latter, Alt.Binz can't find or write to the proper \misc directory.

Thanks!  Reducing it to 6 threads appears to have resolved my problems.  Although I ran it the way I explained for a long time without problems, but only recently started the larger blu-ray dl's (so perhaps that had something to do with it?).  I will look into the memory cache settings later.  Where are the settings stored to try a fresh install??
