0.31.6 hangs on connect win7 x64

Hi all

Alt.Binz hangs as soon as I press the connect button in Win7 x64. I've tried deleting the AppData/Local/Alt.Binz/ folder, even going so far as removing all mentions in the registry, and trying versions going back to 0.31.2, but no luck!

The problem started with 0.31.5, and I subsequently upgraded to .6, but that didn't help.

I've combed through the forums pretty finely, and nothing I've seen has helped.

Here is the log, but as you can see, it's pretty useless!

BTW, I'm using newsdemon as my usenet provider.

As you notice, in the first session it didn't close. in the next session, I didn't connect, so was able to close properly.

I experience the same problems, also win7 64 bits and v.0.31.6

I can't even make the task manager appear to kill the alt-binz process. It totally freezes my system.

Experience the same problem, never had any of this issue's before and i've tried a few versions to, all do the same.
They just "freeze" when the connection starts building up after pushing connect.
The really weird thing is, If I leave it frozen then sometimes it seems to unfreeze and work again, but If Iam to fast in pushing buttons in alt.binz, boom freeze again...

Just stumbled upon this thread. I run win 7 x64 and have had no problems using version 0.31.5.

I also just tried changing my server to one with SSL and I still had no issues.

I did hava an older version of Alt.Binz installed. So I uninstalled/cleaned everything. I switched to SSL over port 563 and use 15 connections. For now it seems to work, but I need to run some more tests...

I had some issues when starting AltBinz 31.5/6 in that it would take awhile to connect and authenticate then I did some looking around altbinz and cleared out the PAR2set list under the PAR2 tab.
I know keep this clear and the slow connect issue for me hasn't returned. Dunno if this info will help others.
