AB 0317 & 0319 - download queue RAR entry formatting
« on: November 02, 2010, 03:53:03 pm »
It seems that with version 0317, the text formatting of the individual RAR files in a collection in the download queue has changed.

In version 0316 a file named "336 - Dazed and Confused - Disc 1 [Richard Linklater, 1993].part001.rar" would display correctly, but in versions 0317 & 0319 it displays as "1933].part001.rar", however the PAR2/SFV/NFO file names are still correctly displayed.  I found one other collection in the queue that also displayed incorrectly "Un coeur en hiver (1992) [A Heart in Winter].part01.rar".  My guess is that the "[" or "]" characters in the filename in the NZB trigger this.

FWIW, I never tried 0318 as 0319 came out so quickly.

I didn't touch that so I know it's the same as in previous versions.

Anyway you can change it to suit your needs -> misc/filemoderegex.txt

Well, it looks like I have egg on half my face.

As best I can determine, this issue came up because a new file started downloading just as I upgraded to AB 0317, it looks like the 'truncated filename' has been there all along.

The problem seems to occur with NZBs that have embbeded spaces in the segment posting titles (instead of periods (.) or underscores (_)).  AltBinz properly downloads the files, it's just the segment entries in the expanded download queue frame that have truncated names, while the name field in the active thread status frame is shown properly.

I ran a couple of experiments with an edited NZB where I replaced the right hand (end of name field) spaces with either underscores or periods and AltBinbz then displayed more of the segment name in the download queue.  It always seemed to truncate to the left of the first embbeded space for the NFO, RAR and zero length PAR2 files, the actual PAR2 correction files always displayed the full name (note: I have 'small par2' unchecked in the import as paused option, everthing else is checked).

In case it helps, I have uploaded a foreground window capture to Hotfile (short_name.jpg)-

and here is the NZB I queued (the original, not an edited version)-

Dear lord, please no more hotfile posts. Anyway, when I *finally*  managed to dl that NZB, I note that the real problem is that the poster has not distinguished the filename from the rest of the subject header in an easily parsable way:

The Color of Pomegranates [Sergei Parajanov, 1968].nfo File 01 of 87 yEnc (1/1)

How should an automated parser know which part of this string is supposed to be the filename? You could change the regex to capture just this case, but that would miss most other stuff.

Thank you for looking into this.

What do you suggest I do to upload files/attachements for a post?

I think I understand your explanation, but it doesn't seem to agree with the observed entries in the download list -- the PAR2 filenames are shown properly, surely they are determined using an automatic parser too.

I don't see that par2 files are shown properly. I see whole subject there.

Learn from other posters, enclose the filename in quotation marks, preceeded by any subject info, parts info, etc.  Leave the yEnc info at the end untouched.
