Alt.binz 0.39.15
Windows 2008R2
When you download a traditional RAR archive that consists of more than 101 files, alt.binz does not correctly unpack the archive. The RAR archive files by convention are named:
- bla.rar
- bla.r00 to bla.r99
- bla.s00 to bla.s99
Obviously alt.binz does not understand that the numbering continues with bla.s00 after the bla.r99, and stops unpacking after bla.r99.
The other archive naming scheme bla.part001.rar, bla.part002.rar, ... does work with more than 101 files.
For an example, see http://www.nzbclub.com/search.aspx?q=pater+brown+folgen+01+36

I think Alt.binz could not understand that the numbering continues because there are only 101 files in the par2 files ( only the r-files, not the s-files).

Why posters are still using that ancient deprecated naming scheme beats the hell out of me. Its flaws are apparent after just 2 minutes of thought, unless you're still on DOS for some reason.
It's even crazier when we get past .s99 to .t00, up to .z99 ... my view here is the same as in general: if the poster is doing ths, they're an idiot and their posts should be ignored on principle.

Hecks, no offens but it's bug and should be fixed.

Rygar, sure it's a bug, but it's not nowhere near the priority atm. I hope you can understand that.
However I share Hecks's point of view. It's madness to pack to so many parts and then not cover it by par2. He should have just used larger part size.

Where is the altbinz-bug?
I think everything works fine with altbinz.
How will you repair that buggy par2-file?
