Hi,
When I download at high speeds (9.5 - 10MB/s) Alt.Binz (0.39.2) becomes unresponsive and doesn't refresh the current speed in the status bar. The CPU is at 100% load. What can I do to make it usable without limiting the download speed?
My system is a Core 2 E6300 @ 1.86, 3GB RAM. I'm planning to upgrade but it's still a decent system.
Thanks.

0.40 will hopefully resolve that issue.

teaser

Is there any development being done on this subject?
Best Regards!

Have just gone back to 0.39.8 as every new version got slower and slower 100%cpu and erratic downloads, now smooth as 26% cpu downloading the same file again............. sorry
I have fast connection 50 down and 13 up.....version 39.8 works for me
-
You've tested with same NZB? Multiple times? Are you 100% sure 0.39.8 is the last one with "normal" cpu usage?
-
Yes and all today have been fine if I go to higher version I have unresponsive downloads ie it struggles at high speed, going to 0.39.12 was bad 11 not much better not saying 8 is the best but it works for now--will try another version an repost

Just uninstalled then reinstalled Alt Binz version .12 was bad struggled at fast download speed but version .11 works so will stick with this for now[thanks for the heads up] also have to say I have had this issue with other versions but always told hopefully fixed in version 4 so this must be an issue,no bitching just trying to let other users know they are not alone with speed issues[try other versions go back I version at a time]-hope this helps

It's hard to see what could have caused significant differences in speed between .11 and .12 if this is the changelog:
+ rename extracted files instead of overwrite/skip [https://www.altbinz.net/forum/requests/renaming-instead-overwriting-identical-unrar-files/]
+ browsing, switching pages, opening weblinks & images in omgwtfnzbs tab
* execute command not working on manual unrar

I also noticed 100% CPU at high speeds. I have a Core 2 Duo t7300 @ 2ghz and 4 gb ram with 64 bit win7. I had it with the free version .4 but also with the latest .12

hello together,
thanks for the hint.
Alt.Binz 0.39.15 freeze after seconds or minutes just after downloading some files. I´m using a PC with AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor and 4 or 8 GB RAM with dual boot (win XP or 7).
I now reinstalled version 0.39.11 and got no freezes so far. I think the freezes were caused from the high cpu usage.
Hope it will be fixed in the next version of Alt.Binz.
Thanks and good bye.

I've been noticing the same issue ever since I upgraded my connection to 150mbit. Is this still on the list to be fixed in .40?
-
same problem here with 150mbit. since i start the dl, everything frezes, can barly click in altbinz. when i click "pause" erything back to normal. i tried 39.11 but still the same problem. Will test .9 now.
-
strange, the problem only exists on my laptop. on my pc everything works fine with 39.15 with cpu usage 6%
Laptop is a thinpad t520 with ssd, i5

I also have this problem with .15
.11 works fine
Also on Laptop with i5
