Search functions...

Most search functions don't work anymore. Is there a way to let Altbinz search a particular newsgroup list that is configured by the user? This will then rely on nothing but the users access to a usenet server. Right now we are all counting on searching places that are in control of what is searched, not really any good anymore. I can do this search function in another news group client but would rather use Altbinz.

My system: Win7ultimate + Norton360 + AltBinz0.39.9

Working here: NZBIndex / Binsearch / NZB.su / NZB.cc / Yabse / NZBClub / Aeton.
Only working with SSL turned off: NZBSearch.
Not working: XPAT, Mysterbin (Ofcourse, it's closed).

It is probably a problem with your setup...
You could try to temporary disabling all firewalls/antivirus and try again.
Or post your system details and describe when the search engines stopped working for you. (Including error messages)

NZB.su doesn't work in alt.binz, the website require registration which alt.binz is not setup for
other than that they're pretty much all working except the ones you have on your Not working
i thought nzbsearch and nzbclub were dead but it looks like they're just not fast enough to get the newest stuff compared to the others.

You have to enter the NZB.su API key to use it: "Setup" -> "Miscellaneous" -> "Miscellaneous #3" -> "NZB.su API key".

NZBSearch with SSL returns: "Error during transfer!" here.
XPAT only shows a 500 error in the log for me.

XPAT works only on xpat enabled usenet servers.

I'll have to go back and check my settings then. Is there a way to search particular groups themselves? Or am I forced to use the built in searches only? Thanks.
