'[' character in a collection name
« on: December 12, 2010, 02:48:02 am »
Thanks for the great program!
In 'setup', 'download options', I have ticked the option to create a sub folder based on 'NZB/root node name'.
I don't know if this is a small bug or not but I noticed that if the collection name in the download queue contains a '[' character then the downloaded rars are placed in the root folder instead or the newly created sub-folder. I assume it is because the '[' character stuffs up the path name.
I haven't found this to be a huge problem because it can be simply rectified by renaming the collection name prior to download.

I've just tested and I have no problems with '[' char in collection name. Folder is created and files are downloaded there.

Thanks for testing it and responding so quickly.
Must be a minor local issue on my PC and nothing worth losing sleep over!
Thanks once again for a great program!

Just for interest sake.....
My particular issue turned out to have nothing to do with the "[" character at all. It must have been the total length of the target path.  The first time the issue occurred I deleted the "[" and "]" and the information inbetween from the collection name and it decoded to the correct location.  I incorrectly assumed that the "[" & "]" characters were at fault when in fact what fixed it was shortening the path string.  When the issue occurred today the total path string was 122 characters. I chopped the collection name in half and the problem was fixed!    :)

Oops....
The issue happened again to a shortish collecton name with a '['.. As an experiment I added another "[". It then successfully created the new sub folder and decoded to it.  The actual 'edit process' seems to fix it.  Obviously a local issue of some kind so I'll stop posting about it now.

PS I think the program is great - thanks!
