Title: error message during first run
Post by: trfb516 on January 18, 2010, 03:06:11 pm
whenever i restart my machine, abz is automatically run and minimized to tray.
after a few minutes, an error message appears, no matter if queue is empty or not.
after the error message the program does not exist.
when i close it and restart it, everything works fine.
again this occurs every time on the first run after machine restart.

maybe there is some corrupt file in abz folder, like history etc...

using W7 RC 64bit
using abz 0.31.3

Did you check for incorrect folders in the setup? Maybe get a clean version, place it in a new non-UAC controlled folder?

Probably not the way you want to go, but it could be an easy solution.

Did you check for incorrect folders in the setup? ????

what's that?

clean version??
afaik, there is a base installer 0.25 and from this point i just update the files for each version.

what's a "non-UAC controlled folder" ?

i have 2 folders for abz:

C:\Program Files (x86)\AltBinz
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Alt.Binz

The alt.binz setup. Hit the setup button in the interface.

Base installer, forget about that. You don't need that one. Download the latest version, place it preferably on a different drive then the system drive, and run it.

UAC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control) - Program Files is being monitored by the system to prevent other systems changing files.
