Extract folder ignored if repair is needed
« on: March 19, 2010, 09:57:14 am »
Any download that needs repairing doesn't end up in the chosen extract folder instead it stays in the download one.

The log says "[PAR2&Unrar] Failed creating unrar dir: N:\Media\Movies_HD\The Descent Part 2" even though that folder exists.

It's trying to create a folder that already exists. Since it works in other cases I would assume it is one of two things.

1. The repair is creating that directory or causing it to be created twice.  This is in the event that the extract folder is not same as d/l folder, or everyone would see this problem.  My extract folder is same as my d/l folder so I can't comment on this scenario.
2. The directory already existed due to a failed or abandoned d/l which was scheduled.

1) Alt.Binz doesn't have a general problem with unraring to a folder that already exists.   Otherwise it would be quite hard to, for example, unrar multiple tv eps to the same dir.

2) the majority of users afaik have separate dl & unrar folders, on separate parititions/driives, as this is clearly the most efficient type of setup.

Just tried that setup and I previously did not think the benefits were that substantial; was I wrong.  Thanks Hecks for pointing that out.  Alt.Binz has so many features that I am still getting acquainted with them.
