getting more instable since 0.33x
« on: February 19, 2011, 03:22:41 pm »
Hi,
since ca. 3 months i get very often crashes under winxp running alt.binz and its getting more often. I try to download litte nzb files with maybe pdfs. so the collection which is inside the nzb is under 10MB and then alt.binz gets problems decoding the parts to one file and the program crashes very often :(

Does someone have the same Problem ?

best regards,
FunThomas

Can you reproduce the problem?
If it can be reproduced it can be fixed very easily

i have uploaded one zip file under http://ul.to/i71ix8
with some nzbs inside.

when orderd by name in the queue it starts with
books_Astro_Hoerbuch_Widder...

and when the download is complete still all parts of this first download are in the state decoding and the next files will be downloading but soon the programm will crash.

but it was not under winxp but win7x64 with pc tools firewall and alt.binz 0.35.1

No problem here with those nzbs.
Are you sure you're not hitting 255 char limit of path+filename

hmm that sounds strange :(

k so i have put my download dir to d:\ud\ to minimize the root folder length

what is the best setting to dont get this limitation when you want to have unzipped the files to subfolder with nzb name?

Answer: shorten the NZB name in the queue.  There are many posts about this in the forum, including requests for better handling of it by Alt.Binz, please search.

Anyway, as this issue is resolved and is no longer a 'bug' described by the thread title:
