download stuck
« on: November 10, 2011, 04:01:05 am »
I've just tried the new version of alt.binz coming from the free version and for the first time ever i have noticed rar's getting stuck downloading at 95%... the connection threads seem to be trying to download it but their not moving at all and the rest of the release finished ages ago..

update: it finally finished 5 minutes later and auto unrar my achieve. But why does it get stuck on downloading at 95% at rar 3 of 10

All the answers are in your Alt.Binz Log (detailed).

If articles are not found initially on your server, Alt.Binz will wait and retry them depending on the values in Setup > Connection.  Then if it still fails, a par2 repair will be attempted.  Set retry count to 0 if you just want to skip straight to the repair.

my retry count is already set to zero. Im also testing very recent files so i would expect there to be no broken files, thing is almost every rar were stuck at 95% for the things im getting

It seems to be gone now..

This may make no sense at all, as I am entirely unsure but my cousin and I share a usenet account and for the first time ever, I decided to set my connections to 10 (half of the 20  my NSP provides) after taking some advice from these forums (RLD mentioned it would  reduce TCP losses on another thread). I started getting 502 connection errors in use by another peer errors in some of my connections whilst some were still going, I know my provider doesn't provide simultaneous logins so he shouldnt be able to connect. I think maybe having 10 connections it free'd up the other 10 and his client was trying to connect to all 20 at the same time.

Yeah, so in this case it was connection retries rather than article retries (values also in Setup > Connection).

Anyway, as this isn't a bug and seems to have been resolved:
