0.39.15 Cleanup broken?
« on: November 08, 2014, 07:36:44 pm »
Altbinz used to perform after unrar cleanup well: no NFO, SAMPLE, ... but recently it doesnt work anymore. I havent changed my config and still filter unwanted extensions: *.nfo, *.htm, *.php and so on.
Whats wrong here  :o :o
thanks for any useful tip!

Did some testing with nzbget, it went ok with the cleanup, some there must be somthing to improve on Altbinz side :-\

Here is my config, which used to work

upon successful download, the "download folder" is empty and the "unrar folder" has junk in it :(

Was all of that junk packed in the RAR archive, i.e. required unraring first?

I suppose it was, but as it always woud? not sure I see exactly what you mean Hecks.
Everything is in the RAR, the RAR is unrared to the correct file + the junk and then Altbinz would delete the junk?

BTW what does the setting "Move to unrar folder" does?

One more thing: last night I got stuff that was clean, I mean no junk, but does it mean there was no junk in the originl package or it was properly cleaned?

Do you want me to try something?

It only cleans up the download folder, not the unrar folder. Although it's trivial to add an Execute on Completion script to do this yourself, there are examples in the Help forum stickies.

Posters shouldn't really be packing that stuff in the archives, certainly not NFOs (defeats the purpose) and definitely not any PHP files ... probably time to look for a different source for your NZBs.

@Hecks, are you sure?  ::) I used to use this additional script a long time ago and after RdL added these options, it seemed it became useless and a for a long time everything was quite smooth.
It would mean this junk would now be inside the archive directly inside the video file?? since it is not cleaned up by Altbinz directly?

BTW here is the script I was no longer using:
del %1\*.nfo
del %1\*.jpg
del %1\*.png
del %1\*.sfv
del %1\*.srr
del %1\*.srs
rd %1
del %2\*.nfo
del %2\*.jpg
del %2\*.ssr
del %2\*.nzb
del %2\*.srs
exit

I would assume the %1 part is no longer necessary but the %2 yes?

Inside the RAR, not inside the video file (not sure what you mean by that really). Most posts have NFOs, SFVs, SRRs, NZBs, samples etc outside the main RAR archive where they can actually be useful (don't need to be unrared, but can be moved automatically from dl to unrar folder with that option set if you want to keep them), and the only time I find lots of junk inside the archive is when it's a dodgy post to begin with, like RAR within RAR (I then stop using those sources). It's hard to know what your exact issues are without seeing an actual example of an NZB, but my guess is that you've been pulling from different posters recently and that's why you're seeing these different results.

Yeah, the second part of that script should work just fine ...

I think you are right, these junk files would be inside the RAR itself and therefore end up in the unrar folder!
I will reactivate my script.
(btw NZBget is able to deal with it automatically  ::) )
