Access Violation Error "00402A75"
« on: March 29, 2008, 02:05:38 pm »
Can any one help?

The error is;

Access violation at address 00402A75 in module 'altbinz.exe' Read of address 00000002.

I get this error while AB runs for about few minutes then this error runs i click on few seconds after AB closes by it self.

When in installed it worked fine for about a month and now this problem has come up.  I haven’t made any changes to the computer what so ever.

I’m running XP SP2.

This sounds like a Windows problem. I have seen many Access Violations from a lot of different programs and it could be caused by many things.

Is there anything wrong with your connection or your Usenet Service? Take a look at your logs and see if you can see any problems there.

I know this isn't much help but looking over the logs can help a lot...

Search the forum and you'll see a few posts reporting similar error messages & crashing, all cropping up within the last couple of weeks on Windows machines.  That can't be a coincidence, as I said in those other threads, something must have changed.  0.25.0 has been out since last September ... It's obviously not a widespread problem, but maybe a Windows or other software update is interfering with AB on some users' systems?

Hmm, what's the common link?   ???

Could be a newly released Update or some thing that Microsoft has put on the Knowledge Base (KB) security updates.

I know I have not had this problem with AB 27.2, so as you mentioned, must be with something that M$ has added to the OS within the last couple of weeks.

But who knows for sure?
