this is a very strange bug that i've experienced a few dozen times over the years. it has persisted across several versions of Alt.Binz, different Windows installs, and new hard drives.
my download will complete properly.. all files will verify with the .par2, the archive will be extracted with no checksum errors, and everything appears fine.
however... sometimes the .r08 will be 64 bytes oversized. looking at the file with an editor shows them as NUL bytes:

i haven't been able to track down any other hints that would help squash this bug.. but the fact that it has only ever happened on .r08 files could be a good starting point.
