random looking files from some nzbs
« on: April 06, 2021, 05:16:26 pm »
Occasionally an nzb winds up as a bunch of files with random names instead of the usual "name_of_file.r01", .02 etc - when that happens, sometimes I can fix it by finding the smallest file, renaming it to .par2 and running it - the par2 utility renames the files and I can then unrar them. If i take the same nzb and run it through newsbin, it figures out the filenames. Any ideas ? If necessary I could provide an nzb to test.

@Mechanic:
   Just curious, do you have the PAR2 checking & PAR2 repair options activated in Alt.Binz setup?

Hmm, interesting.
I used to get some posts that stayed scrambled like that with the old free version, but I can't think of a single occurrence of it since upgrading to the paid / current version of Alt.Binz.
