RDP and Alt.Binz
« on: May 11, 2011, 08:25:50 pm »
Hi,
Not sure if this is me or a combination of things.

But i've noticed when i'm remotely logging into my computer from work using RDP and start using Alt.Binz, it starts downloading fine for the first minute but then download speed drops significantly when decoding and alt.binz ends up going very slow and almost freezing. CPU also shoots up to 100%. I end up having to end process to get the computer back to normal.

However when logging in locally, Alt.Binz is fine and no issues.
I have Windows 7 64bit, icore 3, 2.3Ghz, 3gb ram, 500gb hard drive with 100gb free space.

I've tried playing with the priorities but that hasn't had any effect.

Well, only way i could get rid of it was to reinstall Win 7.
Problem fixed, all good in downloading land now.

Just for info sake:

I have Vmware ESXi on a machine and runs Win7 in a VM booting from ISCSI and writing Downloads back to a NAS drive and only uses RDP to access the machine.

Works great so far.
