RSS - Release name not working for all releases
« on: November 25, 2008, 07:20:54 pm »
The "release name" option on the RSS tab does not work with all release names.

For example release names using the format

<show name using _ as delimiter>.<season>x<episode>.<episode title using _ as delimiter>.HDTV_XviD-<group name>

These releases are identified as "Xvid-<group name>"
Multiple different releases using that scheme end up in the same directory.

I tried a workaround by disabling the "release name" option, which didn't work either as alt.binz does not replace characters like "/" in the folder name it tries to create.

Working perfectly fine here with that format.  I think we're going to need a specific example from you - feed url & release name.  I'm not sure I understand the point about "/" - where are they coming from?

The Feed http://www.newzleech.com/rss.php?n=5&s=cold+case+fov contains the release "Cold_Case.6x09.Pin_Up_Girl.HDTV_XviD-FoV".

The Underscores are replaced by blanks which might cause the wrong naming.

I just realized that the blanks are already in the RSS feed which makes this more an issue for newzleech than alt.binz. But supporting these mistreated release names would be a nice feature.

The second issue however is a bug in alt.binz

When disabling the "release name" option the release is imported as "#a.b.mm@efnet - req 64180 - Cold Case.6x09.Pin Up Girl.HDTV XviD-FoV - [02/34] - cold case.6x09.pin up girl.hdtv xvid-fov.par2".
When the download dir is set to E:\%NZBSUBJECT Alt.Binz tries to create "E:\#a.b.mm@efnet - req 64180 - Cold Case.6x09.Pin Up Girl.HDTV XviD-FoV - [02/34] - cold case.6x09.pin up girl.hdtv xvid-fov.par2" which does not work as "/" is not a valid char for directory or file names.

With that fixed I could do a workaround for the first issue by using the filename of the NZB file to rename the folder to the release name.

Edit:
I've just been to the newzleech forum and found an old post by you (?) regarding that issue.

The problem with the space issue generally - particularly if arbitrary spaces are inserted into subjects by sites - is that Alt.Binz has no way of knowing what is a legit space and what isn't.  There isn't an easy way to handle 'errors' here, because first the errors need to be defined, and formats for subjects are just too varied.

In any case, a temporary solution is to use tvbinz dot net instead of Newzleech if it's tv you're mainly interested in for RSS.

Thx for the fast reply

I've used tvbinz until they deactivated the search in RSS. With the rss feed showing a maximum of 100 entries you have to check the feed more than once a day without missing an entry...

Search isn't deactivated.  You must have triggered a lockout  Do you have access to irc?  If so come to #tvnzb @ efnet to sort it out.
