For some time now, I am unable to download on my windows 7 machine with the latest version 0.31.2.
After several minutes of downloading at full speed (aprox 7000kb/sec) altbinz crashes and shows the following popup :

When I check taskmanager I see that it is using 1.8gb of ram (and it stays that way), alt binz won't respond at all. After closing the program, restarting it and retrying the download, I see the following logs :

If I open taskmanager I see that the memory usage is increasing rapidly, in other words I understand why it runs up to 1.8gb usage..
Anybody know what's going on? Previous versions have worked fine on this same machine running vista. I'm going to try to downgrade and see if this resolves the problem, maybe it's just windows 7 causing the problem.
I've shutdown my virusscanner by the way, and it's not the filepaths cause these are set to the first folder on my drive.

I'm getting the same error in winxp, started all of a sudden now just gobbles resource till it crashes ..

since for both of u it's a decoding error my first guess would be the "to long filpath" error. if its that choosing a download dir directly under root (for example C:\Download) should solve the problem.
in ur case workaholic, i would consider a corupt queue. u could try deleting the queue and using the backup queue instead. u'll find both in ...\Altbinz\misc

I have been having this issue for the past few days as well. At first I thought it was my CUDA based PAR2 that was gobbling Video Memory and passing the error through to Altbinz. After changing back to the original, it did nothing ... memory leaks continued. Now I am trying the queue file swap suggestion ... will report back but as of writing it seems to still be racing upward already at 550MB since it is 32bit it will consume up to 2GB and use all the resources from other Apps, like Chrome crashes quite often once the 1GB barrier is broken.
If this fails, I'll try erasing both queue files, and starting from a fresh install ... see if that changes anything, if that fails I think it could be some Microsoft Update that is getting in the way.
BTW, I have 8GB of system RAM, and running Win7 x64.

Well what fixed it is what davidq666 said, but one exception. Erase both Queue files, both the original and the back up. Everything seems to be alright now, but don't know why the back up too is corrupt ... I would think the backup is made error free.

Did you try shortening the NZB filename / path as suggested? Anything more than 255 chars is crash city. And yes, Alt.Binz needs to handle this more gracefully. :P
