Adding NLSS+ Newzbin to Global Search
« on: February 03, 2009, 11:05:43 am »
if it's not to much work it would make searching a lot smoother for people who use these two tabs...

+1, me too!

i am a new user (started today, came over from NL/SS).. but thats the first thing that i found i wanted to have that was lacking still when i tried the application out...

- Do not comment on how easy something would be to implement
To the contrary: i guess i know why exactly they were the ones not in there up to now: they are the ones that are either not free or hard to come by (newzbin/invite). => If they were in the list (and switched on by default) a majority of people would be getting errors or at least lose unnecessary performance - or would have to switch them off EACH search request.
=> The only way to solve this would be to have an additional entry in the OPTIONS where every user could (using a list of checkboxes) select his DEFAULT selection of search services.

Dont know if _thats_ whats holding you from implementing it - but PLEASE do it, it would help us NLSS and/or Newzbin users a LOT... currently we are copy/psting a lot between all different search screens  -  and thats exactly whats NOT the idea of Global search i guess...

Newzbin I have nothing much to say about apart from that it's dead. :P

NLSS on the other hand: well, it's such a different kind of search experience from the others.  Given that search results are streamed live from the server, and generally need more careful setting of parameters for each query, I find it's the one tab that I need to work with on its own.  But I guess that's what the checkbox on the global search dialog woud be for. ;)
