Title: Auto pause download threads when repairing/unrarring
Post by: dennis2005 on January 23, 2008, 07:07:13 pm
It would be nice if the active download threads could be auto paused when a repair or unpack procedure is started.
Then auto resume the download threads when the repairing or unrarring is completed.

Downloading at high speeds, and also repairing/unrarring at the same time puts a lot of stress on the harddrive and can sometimes slowdown the system response a bit. It's problably also better for the HDD life.

the option sounds useful eventhough setting download-thread priority on idle should do something simular it seems to me.

I know you can change the priority settings, but these priority settings influence the CPU power, not the stress put on the HDD.

And pausing the downloads while unrarring will problably help in getting less fragmented files on the HDD.
