Post by: kC_ on September 17, 2007, 07:30:25 pm
as title says..

would be nice if altbinz could auto skip if files exist...
currently it donloads the file all over again, with an extra x on the extension
e.g
blah.rar
blah.rarx

cheers

Does "Keep download history" and "Import already downloaded as paused" (Setup > Download) not work? Or did you have something else in mind?

yep that works, but if you download same files from a different post.. then you get blah.rarx

OK, I see. So ideally ABZ would compare checksums, and if they're the same, just skip the new file. (Sometimes files have the same name, but different content.)

At that point, it isn't saving you bandwidth as you've already downloaded it. It might save you some disk space, though.

Keep in mind that for some files, you can't determine the filename until you have downloaded the article and can extract the filename from the header.

Done.

Ussual stuff. Download thread gets filename from the start of the article, checks if file exists on download location and if it does, deletes file from download queue.
