Possibility to input max retention date on backup server
« on: September 28, 2015, 02:24:09 pm »
it's gotten to the point that now and then more than 1 backup server is required.
most of what I DL, is DLed within 1 day or 5 after posting & if the main server that has over 2000 days retention, my primary backup has only about a week of retention, but I have yet to come across something that has been squashed on it that has been squashed on the primary server, & am always able to DL what I want.

Every now and then, the need arises to DL something that was posted a year or more ago, & if squashed on my main server, I do not want AltBinz to attempt DLing from my primary backup (having the possibility to put in the option that the server only has 1 weeks of retention) and that AltBinz automatically goes to the backup server that has a setting fullfilling the "time (retention)" settings.

I hope that you can understand what I'm trying to put across.

I understand, however it will have to wait for new primary/backup server logic to be implemented (0.42.0) Then we'll see what and how can it be done.

Would be great to have this implemented. But for me please the other way around. :)

My primary server is from my ISP who provide 30 days retention usenet access for free.  8)

So everything older than those 30 days need to come from another paid provider. Therefore would be good if Alt.Binz is not desperately trying to download anything older than 30 days from my primary ISP usnet server and instead, switch to the backup.
