I have been using the following feed from TVBINZ for many weeks without a problem.
However they must have changed the feed somehow, as the results in altbinz now shows :
Your RSS feed reader does not support gzip compression.
I have checked the feed itself via Bloglines, and it looks OK from there, and I don't have enough understanding to work out if gzip compression is something that alt.binz should or could understand, hence I posted here.

Thanks, Hecks. That will teach me to search for TVBinz rather than gzip in the forum ;)
However, I get the "does not support" message on the feed I gave as soon as I hit refresh, even before I try to download anything. And this is after a fresh restart of alt.binz.
Is this what you explain in your other post ?

same here, problem started on the 25th.. as nothing refreshes after that date.. i exit alt binz, restart and still the gzip error.

To clarify: after the first attempted download from a non-Binsearch RSS feed, Alt.Binz stops sending the 'Accept-Encoding: gzip" header. Different sites respond differently to this - Binsearch and tvbinz (now) feeds become unusable, but Binsearch can be made usable again by restarting Alt.Binz, since the bug only happens when downloading from a non-Binsearch feed.
Basically, whatever was originally implemented on Binsearch RSS needs to be implemented in same way on the rest, then we'll be fine and dandy.

Thanks for the reply, hecks. That does make it clearer. I'll leave the post in here, but I will also update your bug post to show this is impacting someone other than just you :)
All the best,
