The Newzleech site is undergoing changes, and searching from within Alt.Binz is now broken.
Message: "Error parsing results!!"
And note that development continues:

One notable new feature is that reports are now included in the standard search results alongside the posts that make up the report, which are grouped differently from unreported results, i.e. indented directly below the report name (in what he calls a 'hybrid' mode). Either the report or the reported posts can be selected, but the accuracy of the latter now depends on whether they've been reported correctly. It might be helpful if these differences could be highlighted somehow by Alt.Binz, otherwise things might get confusing:

No, 0.25.0 will never be updated, otherwise it would be a new version. We are now on version 0.28.2, and hopefully there will be a fix for version 0.28.3.

I understand. Is there any other way to get newer versions? I don't have paypal nor will I ever get it again. They screwed me over. But I would like to continue to use alt.binz as it is a kick ass program. Can I mail some money (at my own risk) somewhere?

You need to pm Rdl, the developer.

Cool. Thanks.

I can't search for files on newzleech it says error parsing is their a way to find and DL files now
-
Use another search engine (tab) until Newzleech is fixed ... patience is your friend :)

Presumably you didn't read the first post in the thread. Do so now.
Then read the 6th post. There will be no fix for 0.25.0.

You should still be able to search for stuff using Binsearch instead of Newsleech until the new version of altbinz is ready, ironhide515.

He's not a contributor, so is using 0.25.0. Only beta.binaries.nl still works in 0.25.0.

I shouldn't laugh but I find that statement quite funny :P
-
Because you're using 0.28.2 as non-contributor? ::)
(read it how you want, it's not meant as accusion)

So, if I contribute to alt.binz, it will work like it always has?

Tom
Note the title of this thread. The latest version is 0.28.2.
-
So the answer is yes? Since I am using 0.25.0 and I donate, I get upgraded to 0.28.2?
Tom

If you upgrade to 0.28.2, you'll notice that, as this thread reports, Newzleech search doesn't work. I don't know how it can get any clearer than that.
On the other hand, all the other search engines work fine in 0.28.2. And there's a lot more to 0.28.2, since 0.25.0 is over a year old now ....
Have a look through the version history to see tha improvements, changes and fixes since 0.25.0:

I don't use the built in search engines so hadn't noticed that - I think RDL should release a somewhat newer version as the free one. If people download 0.25 and it "doesn't work" they are more likely to just go and download another app. IMO altbinz is too good for that to happen to; it should be adopted as the standard newsleeching prog. =]
It also means less donations for rdl, if people don't give the program a chance they will never donate.

Speaking on my own behalf, I think your comment is just rubbish my friend.
The free 25.0 version is more then a year old. The developer released it at that time as a fully working program and lots of people used it since. Lots of them showed their appreciation with a contribution for a program, you will never find an equal!
Lots of them used the program as it is since, for free. That's anybodies choice, like yours and others in this thread.
But now, because some parts of that free version are going crumbled, begging for a newer *free* release, is a very piteous way some people live their lives.
Just my 2 cents.
Regards, Gompy

There will be no new free version. 0.25 is fully functional minus search engines.EOD
