I also get the same error when doing a global search (all search engines checked), even when using a fresh clean install of altbinz. Happened in version previous as well. (v0.35.2). It's proving to be a bugger this one! ;D

Guys, I need feedback from you. As I understood there was a error when you tried to open global search and there was an error when trying to close it or clicking search button or clicking fill button. Am I right?
And I'm interested if the first one is gone?

Right, here goes:
1. Open Altbinz
2. Press Ctrl+F to open global search
3. Leave all search engines checked (i.e. NZBSearch, Binsearch, NZB.cc, NZB.su, NZBIndex, Aeton, Yabse, Mysterbin)
4. Enter any text in the drop down combo box.
5. Click Search
6. After clicking an error is raised instantly [Doesn't seem to do anything else]

The error I get is the following:
Access violation at address 0047FE71 in module 'altbinz.exe'. Read of address 0000003AC.

After clicking Ok, I get 2 further errors stating the Access violation but with different addresses, before altbinz has to be forced to close.

The above also happens with a clean install of altbinz.

Do you need any more detail?

On further investigation:
Instead of clicking Search and clicking Fill raises this error:

Control 'fillbutton' has no parent window.

Altbinz then has to be forcibly closed after clicking OK.

Just tried to click cancel once the global search dialog box appears. This to raises an access violation in the same as clicking search.

-Click search,  opens global search pane (normal operation).
-Enter item to be searched (all boxes checked)
-Click 'Search'
-Error box "Access violation at address 0047FE71 in module 'altbinz.exe' Read of address 00000368"

To add, unchecking any of the search engines on the global dialog doesn't change any behavior and still raises the error as the same when for clicking the search button.

Scratch that. I managed to get the error four times now, each with three Access Violation dialogs.

I'm trying to figure out how to reproduce it consistently. I noticed that my download threads appear to hang while the global search is being performed; the errors seem to occur when a download is active. Possibly a race condition?

When I click the Global search button, wait for the dialog, and click Cancel, it will eventually give me three Access Violation dialogs and then report that the application has stopped working. Sometimes it takes three tries, sometimes it can take twenty or more, but I have been able to reproduce it eventually every time.

Edit: It doesn't matter whether I have a download active or not.

I haven't experienced that yet; only after clicking Search or Cancel after the dialog has appeared.

I just experimented with opening and closing the Global search dialog a couple hundred times and didn't have a problem once, so negative on the crashing dialog.

I held down the Alt key, clicked the Global search button, then tapped F4; repeat.

So:
alt+f4 = no error
"Cancel" button = error

What happens with close button in upper right corner?
