Focusing error
« on: October 29, 2010, 01:55:42 pm »
ok, i'll do my best to describe this, as there will be no log entries for it....

My system is XP based, 2 monitors using UltraMon program to control the monitors

1. Make sure a topic about that does not already exist. You can post in that topic.
couldn't see one, please accept my appologies if i missed one

2. Please describe the bug as detailed as possible.
Application fails to focus properly on selected dialogue boxes, for example the easiest to see the problem with is the global search, the popup dialogue box opens, but then it loses focus, so you start typing and nothing appears, forcing you to re-select it, same happens in drop down searches from tabs.
I have also noticed another strange thing with focusing, and that is that if i have a window open half covering alt.Binz, say a folder, when i move the cursor back over Alt.Binz, it focuses on it straight away, and the folder i had selected loses focus and goes "behind" Alt.Binz

3. Tell us what your log says, but only copy relevant lines! you can blur out filenames of course.
as you can see from the description, no error log will be made

4. If you can reproduce it, tell us the steps necessary for it to be reproduced.
easiest is the global search dialogue

5. Tell us your OS, firewall and Alt.Binz version (you can find that by clicking on the about button).
XP, LookNStop FW, and this seems to have always been an issue, currently using v0.31.7 (about to change to v0.31.8 )

EDIT:
just updated to v0.31.8 and it still does it, and it seems to be affected by where the cursor is located, if i open the global search box, then do nothing it keeps focus, if i move the cursor over the main alt.binz window, say the subject area, the search loses focus but stays on top as it were.
Also when i first open alt.binz i have it set to check for new version, if a new version is available it shows the message and wont do anything till i click ok... great, except for the last 2 updates, that popup has been behind the main alt.binz window and not visible  ;D
