altbinz crashes with too long filenames/paths
« on: October 14, 2009, 08:47:30 pm »
When the total number of chars in the path+filename is above 256 (if I'm correct) alt.binz still tries to save those files. Because of the limitations of NTFS it's not permitted to save such files as a result that alt.binz gets into an infinite loop with decoding. This mostly happens when the text is very long in the download title.

Can this bug been fixed (like auto shortening the folder)? I've noticed this in version 0.31.2.

Thanks a lot.

Yes, this is a long-standing issue with this Windows limitation, and there are lots of previous posts about it - search - so we don't really need another, but thanks anyway.
