I get some files that don`t decode, download goes fine and then the decoding does not work. It just says decoding but it does not run. After downloading the same files again i have no problem?

Had the same problem with the previous version.

Check log file. You'll probably notice some Decoding errors. 99% it's caused by your antivirus program locking file.

i see the download tab shows decoding at 98% and hasn't changed although many other parts have been d/l and decoded.  if a program, like your anti-virus app is the problem why not retry??

i'm using AVG Free Edition and get the following in the log:

Code: [Select]

[14/04/2007 2:17:40 PM] [Dec] Exception Cannot open file "C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\My Documents\My alt.binz downloads\Children.of.Men.R1.NTSC.DVDR-EMERALD\altbin.temp". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

This is surely the fault of the anti virus software. But since this seems to be a common problem (I experienced it, too, with Kaspersky), would it be possible to retry opening the file after a second (or so) to work around the problem? For me at least decoding totally stalled. Of course I can disable the anti virus software, but that's not really the sense of it, I think.

Thanks!

I'm aware of the problem and I'll try to fix the problem one way or another in a next few days.

BTW great job with madcollection :) Alt.binz uses few of your units :)

Thanks - didn't know that...  :)  Great job with Alt.binz, btw, too! Was using GrabIt before, but Alt.binz is really MUCH better.

This is build that should fix avp decoding problems, so some feedback is needed.

I also use altbinz together with AVG Free Edition since several month and never had any problems with decoding.

Ok, downloaded about 50GB with the new build and my AV activated and didn't experience any lockups. Not sure yet whether this is enough proof. But for now I'd say it looks good. I'll complain if I experience the problem again.

However, I wasn't able to unrar the one rar'ed download with alt.binz. I was able to unrar externally by using WinRar. But alt.binz didn't want to unrar. Neither automatically (although the settings say it should automatically unrar) nor manually. Just nothing happened. I'm not sure, it might have been a one time off. It might have had specific reasons. But you may want to double check if unraring still works for you.

Anyway, thanks for the new build - and keep up the good work!

With another download unraring worked fine. The AV problem still didn't occur yet. So currently everything looks shiny.
