auto unrar does not work for xfiles
« on: November 02, 2007, 11:48:29 am »
The downloaded .rar files (X-files S1 D1-D7 as posted on FTD) are not being auto unrarred. Not one of the disks of S1 have been auto unrarred. But after closing Altbinz (0.26.3), I can unrar them with Winrar. No problem at all.
All other .rar files are being auto unrarred. I'm probably doing something wrong but I would like to know what I should do to fix this. Compliments for your work anyway! Altbinz  is fantastic!

Any entry in log regarding unraring? Did you try to start unrar manualy (right click on par2 set ->unrar)?

I always use the shutdown button (shut down Windows - it's XP by the way) and Altbinz has everything cleaned up nicely, so I haven't had the chance to right click par2 when I restart the computer the next day (although, I have to admit, I didn't know that manually unrarring within Altbinz was possible). I also think I have disabled logging.
So I will download one of the Xfiles disks again tonight, I will not use the shutdown button and I will enable logging.
By the way, there's one noticeable difference between all the other .rar files and the xfiles .rar's. In this case there are a lot more .rar-files: they are smaller than "normal" .rar files. (Unrarring with Winrar results in an .iso file).
Will keep you posted. Thanks.

Well, everything was unrarred by Altbinz (0.26.5), except Xfiles (S1D7). The rar files are still in de download folder. Every other downloaded item was nicely unrarred in the Autounrar folder.
I didn't use the shutdown button. In the "Download queue" window every downloaded item was mentioned, except Xfiles! In the PAR2 window, everything was mentioned, except Xfiles. Everything mentioned was also 100% unrarred by Altbinz. I told you about the many rar-files. Disks 1 to 6: each had 250 rar files. Disk 7 had 174 rar files. (Unrarred they become an iso).
Should I paste the log file in a reply, or should I send it to you in another way (I'm asking this, worrying a bit about privacy)?
Let me know how to post the log file. Thanks.

My guess is that you loaded nzb files for xfiles which contained no par2 files. In alt.binz no par2 files = no checking , no checking = no unraring.

That nzb does not contain small par2 file, only recovery par2 files. In that case wise thing would be to unpause smallest recovery par2 file and move it in front of the rars.
