Files not deobfuscated, .par2 files missing
« on: March 13, 2019, 12:41:41 am »
Not sure if this is a problem with alt.binz or my favorite nzb indexer (nzbs.org).

Since Friday the .par2 file has not been getting recognized, so all of the files are downloaded, but the filenames remain scrambled and are not getting renamed properly.  I can go into the folder and find the smallest file (usually 20-40kb) and manually add .par2 to the filename and run the par2 program which does rename the files correctly, but it's time consuming to do that.

Anyone else running into this?

Cheers

yes  had to move to a different program and it handles them fine  would rather stick to alt binz as it is all setup

According to Nzbfinder, its a problem with some nzb downloaders not properly supporting the most current obfuscation formats:

Downloaded files without a file extension?
Please update to the latest versions of either NZBGet, SABnzbd, NZB Vortex or the latest BETA version of Newsbin Pro. As of now Newsleecher, SuperNZB and Grabit (and probably others) don't support the latest obfuscation methods.
Please ask the developers of these programs to update their software to support the latest NZB's.

I'm guessing alt.binz has fallen into this group now and needs an update to fix this?

Nzbs.org intentionally does that par2 thing, alt.binz just needs to check for extra data in nzb.

Not sure what you need, let me know and I'll try to help.

Effectively, the files are all there, just all of the names are scrambled with random strings and no extensions.  So alt.binz isn't recognizing the .par2 file, and therefore it's not downloaded first and loaded in the par2 engine to check/rename the files as they are downloaded.

Once the package downloads, you can go into the folder, and just look for the smallest file (it's usually ~20-40 kb or so), manually add .par2 extension to it, and then run your par2 program by double-clicking that file and the rest of the files will be checked and renamed.
