crash after search with umlauts
« on: January 21, 2024, 12:08:18 pm »
Hi to all,

I had hoped that I would no longer find this error in a new version, but it can still be found in version 47.5.2.

The problem:
If I use terms with umlauts in the global search (as a German user this happens relatively often), altbinz crashes reproducibly (partially).
In the search engine "nzbindex" the search is not terminated, if you click on the "Cancel" button, the message <<Access violation at at address 00830485 in module "altbinz.exe" Read of Address 00000000>> appears
In the other search engines (nzbking, binsearch) there are simply no hits. I do not use any other search engines. After that, no further search will work. After restarting altbinz everything works again.
So far I have only been able to avoid this by cutting off the search terms before or after the umlaut, but sometimes there are so many umlauts that the rest of the search term no longer makes sense.

Can anyone else reproduce the error and is there a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
David

Should be fixed in next version/build
