Title: Timer-based RSS checking just stops ?
Post by: nwpsys on September 08, 2007, 10:18:56 am
I have noticed once or twice, that when using the RSS timer to regularly check a feed, somethimes alt.binz just seems to stop checking.

If I then turn off the timer, and do a manual refresh it catches up with all the entries from the feed. Checking the feeds website I can see the entries have been added over a time period that should have been picked up by my 20 minute updates.

I checked to see if the log had any reference to update attempts, but I don't think these are logged currently. Is there a swtich I can set to include this sort of information ?

Otherwise, any other diagnostics I can perform ?

I have grown to rely on this functionality, so I am happy to help uncover any inconsistancy.

Cheers,

There should be entry in log when detailed logging is on.

I have detailed turned on, but I was not logging to a file so the important messages had fallen out of the buffer.

I am now logging 7 days to file, and I can see the 20 minute refresh of the RSS feed taking place.

I will continue to monitor.

Cheers, Rdl.
