bug in speed limit?
« on: September 06, 2007, 09:40:32 pm »
hello,
is there a known bug in the speed limit? if i set a limit and switch to another window, alt.binz will jump to no limit after a while. i haven't found any way to set a durable speed limit. i'm on Viste Ultimate (32)

Any known issues. Can't imagine that nobody else noticed this.

regards

maybe you've activated the Scheduler.

The Scheduler overwrites your manual Speedlimit.

nothing scheduled at all. can't imagine that this behaviour depends on settings.

the time difference between switching to no limit differs. soemtimes it after 10 seconds it jumps back to no limit. sometime it took a minute or two.

it's a really strange behaviour. for everyone else it's workung without problems?

Well for me it is working as I have it set up. I guess it is

I have mine set to 1000 kb/s in the settings and then when I close the Settings, the status bar on it it shows "No Limit". When I left click on the "No Limit" setting, I change it 20% and the speed decreases to 200 kb/s. I just did this and it hasn't changed back to no limit. As far as I can tell it is working as intended.

But don't know why you would want to go less that your internet speed. I guess if you need to do something while Alt.binz is running, maybe that's what it is for. But I always leave mine with No Limit.

i am still thinking it's because of the scheduler. I am using the scheduler all time so I know this behavior. Its exactly what you described.

please look if the scheduler button is marked (it's on the main toolbar) and if so maybe you did activate 'autopush scheduler button' on start (Setup -> Misc ).

If that really is not the case, please describe this behavior exactly step by step and provide a log.

oh man. i must have been blind. the scheduler button was enabled.

looks like it works now as expected. :) i thought if there is no scheduler rule is available the scheduler is disabled. but no rule explicit defined means "no limit". don't know why i ignored the enabled scheduler button. feel like a dumbass.

thx for insisting in checking the scheduler.
