Minimize to tray at W7 startup
« on: July 18, 2012, 03:16:59 am »
AltBinz 039.8 on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1u has a problem when it is told to minimize to tray at startup.  With 0.39.7 and
startup command: "C:\Program Files (x86)\AltBinz\altbinz.exe" -tray it will work perfectly. After installing 0.39.8 altbinz starts
at startup with a normal open window, but it refuses to let me use the minimize or close button, only after double clicking the
systray icon I can use these buttons.

I'm having trouble reproducing this.
Are you saying you're having normal window but also systray icon? What about taskbar, is there altbinz?

When it starts there is no taskbar-icon, but there is a systray-icon. Program window will open like a normal start of altbinz. I can do anything in the program-window, except two buttons, minimize and the close button. UAC is disabled and I have admin rights.

edit: I can easely reproduce this by switching between 39.7 and 39.8. But only 39.7 will work the way I like it. (Older versions too)

Do me a favor, backup your config file, delete config file, start altbinz, enter login data, exit altbinz and then start it again with -tray switch. Still the same? If not please send me your backed up config file.

No problem, what do you mean by "config-file", where can I find this file, searched all directories (userdata & program data, etc). By the way: I see, if the main windows opens at startup, that the login to authenticate  :P occurs and altbinz will be logged in without any error. After that sequence than I cannot minimize or close the windows, like I told you before. I will hear from you.

Oops, I found the file.  :-[ , after remove this file and configure alt.binz with login-settings, still the same. 039.8 wrong, 039.7 allright.

Only after startup of 39.8, now close-button works (minimize not). This because the option to close to systray is changed to disabled (default). I allways set this enabled.

Yep, it's perfect, no problems with -systray parameter used.  Thank you very much, keep up the good work.
