noob has problem with rss
« on: September 15, 2010, 09:27:53 am »
hi..
sorry if this has a blindingly obvious solution but it's got me stumped..

i've setup the rss feed to search for nzb's and it seems to download any that match the search so i'm hitting my allotted 150 nzb a day in a very short time.. i know i could narrow the search but i wanted to know if i can actually stop the nzb from being downloaded but still be notified so i can queue them ?

many thanks for any help..

Arc..

u can import the nzb as paused, but then the nzb gets downloaded just not the data. other than that? no, there is no way i can think of...

maybe useing a different rss source could be an option... which one are u useing right now?

how do u manage the queue if 150 nzb get imported paused each day?

if you don't realy wanna import all these nzbs, u could set filters in alt.binz to decide which gets imported and which not or decline everything and instead import them manualy. feed is kept up to date wether u import an nzb or not and non matching post can be added manualy later on.

see:

The short answer to the OP's question is: no you can't do that automatically (how would that actually work in practice, anyways?).  You can however disable the timer and refresh the feed listing manually whenever you want.

Or you could do the simpler thing and use a better feed without any NZB dl limits, e.g. nzbs.org.

Again with nzbs.org you can create custom feeds for whatever search paramaters you want - perhaps you could investigate whether this is possible with your site, so that it does the filtering for you.
