After all these years do you still use Alt.Binz ? If so do you use it as your main download nzb client?
Sorry I couldn't find a way to make a poll. Just wondering how many people still use Alt.Binz.

yes, absolutely - especially since 0.44 was released - the extra code/tools to deal with obfuscated files/posts means that it's still a very capable client - rss feeds and api searches give it an edge over NZBget and SAB - only thing that might be an issue for some is integrating it with automation like Sonarr - but a watched folder might be one solution.

The only feature I can think of that isn't useful anymore in Alt.Binz is streaming of video :( Not Alt.Binz fault though.

The release notes in 0.44 explain it and reference the requests:
* handling of the par2 in obfuscating posts [https://www.altbinz.net/forum/requests/rename-differently-named-parity-files-to-same-name-so-they-can-be-used-to-repair/]
+ option to autorename video file to collection name (Setup->Unrar->Auto rename movie file to collection name) (default on) [https://www.altbinz.net/forum/requests/rename-unrar'd-file-to-match-nzb-release-name/]
Basically, several indexers post files using various obfuscation methods which meant prior to rdl making the changes, the parity files would be named something random and unable to be used without renaming them.
Also, once the file was extracted from the obfuscated posts, the file name was random characters .mkv and another change was made to allow an optional rename the .mkv file as per the nzb file.
Obviously not all indexers post their own content, but those that do, are posting in an obfuscated manner and since these changes were implemented, downloading those obfuscated files now is as easy to deal with as plain text files.

Yes. Have used it for years. I have looked at others but keep coming back to Alt.Binz.

I need a newznab compatible software to browse directly my indexer and a RSS feed..
Do you know any other software other than altbinz for that ? I didnt find one.

The ability to add random files from a rss feed and the newznab api search - are some of the strongest features and reasons I stick with Alt.binz

The answer is still Yes. It does what it should do, no reason to switch.

I rarely use it anymore, as the decoder speed is unable to keep up with my download speed (a problem that doesn't occur with NZBGet). If they could overhaul the decoder to keep pace with a gigabit connection, it would be my sole NZB client.
