Why is it that the search providers included in the alt.binz software are miles behind in retention. Compared to their web-based versions?
-
For example?

For example?
Binsearch:
Altbinz: 900 days
Web-based: 1100 days
NZBindex:
Altbinz: 500 days
Web-based: 700 days
If more examples are needed, please let me know. I feel that two hundred days is quite significant. Although I may just be a lone ranger, I thought I would at least question the reasoning behind the matter.
I currently use a competitors software for my usenet needs. However, I'm always looking to slowly move away from their software as it's slowly declining in value. I've been following alt.binz for sometime now and I feel that if the retention was on par with the web-based versions I could finally make the switch. Which would be fantastic.
Thanks for taking the time to address my concerns.

Lets call this a bug. It's few minutes of work on my part to address this issue.
Please, open up a new thread in bug section and write down all the search engines retention issues.

Note that in both those examples, you can simply choose 'Age: All' to search their full retention. The age options are only really useful if you want to limit your search.
