How are people doing searching?
« on: December 29, 2012, 06:15:33 am »
What is your preferred method in doing a search on usenet? When using Altbinz search buttons you are essentially searching another searcher. Just makes it easy all in one interface. Right now I just use Binsearch and then work from there. I really wish Altbinz would incorporate the ability to download headers into a database (SQLite) then let the user perform a search on those indexes. Maybe this is a new function coming? I'm always looking for the best way to do searches and why not see how other people are doing it.

Manual, through the tabs in Alt.Binz, use a few release sites to inform me of specific release names/whats been released, but for tv shows i use just the show name and then SxxExx that returns repacks and propers usually, although the UK groups could get a grip and stick to that naming convention  ::)

omgwtfnzbs is turning out to be quite a useful tab, especially with tv release group LOL not always posting their stuff on the newsgroups lately.

I have heard the names Sick Beard & Couch Potato, but not used them or looked into them. For a tv show calender i use this one,
Code: [Select]

although lately it has been a bit behind in adding new shows, but for now it suffices
