Using AltBinz in 2 different locations.

i input all same details and settings but still get error 502 invalid user message when try to connect to download.

1. nothing to do with alt.binz
2. nothing unusual - Astra doesn't allow account sharing (2 IPs simultaneously)

ah ok then thx so i cant use astraweb from 2 different pc's/laptops even if same household
didnt mean to sound as blaming Altbinz as said in previous post new to this set-up. just going on advice from others i know who use it.

If they are on different IPs - No
Otherwise as long as you're within 20 connections limit it should be ok.

i got my 1st lappy on 20 connections when i downloading , so do u mean i cant exceed the 20 connections in total even if use 2 laptops for instance ?

I'm glad the question I wanted to ask is already answered (use alt.binz with multiple pc's in the internal network at home)
Best thing is to setup your first device to use 50% of the usenet connections and the other device also 50% of the connections.

Then you won't have a problem I think.

So your usenet provider gives you 20 connection, setup 10 con. on your laptop and 10 on your desktop in alt.binz. (Server Options / Number of connections)

basicly thats it. but it's not necessarily the best solution to always use up the maximum number of conection. i would suggest a test starting with one connection to see how many u need to get maximum speed, after that u might add on ore two extra conection to minimize fulctuation in the speed if necessary, anthing beyond that won't bring u any extra benefit, but might actualy decrease ur speed slightly.

I share my usenet account with my dad and he needs the latest version of altbinz.
Can I donate for a second 'license' and he uses my altbinz account? It would be the easiest way for me, he wouldn't have to register/donate (wich I had to do for him anyway...)

when i tried to put altbinz onto 2nd laptop got invalid user message.

remember its the provider login you type in there
not your altbinz account
