Where did my post go?
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:57:48 am »
A while back, I posted a message in the help forum about items not being removed from the download list. The other day I posted a reply to that thread saying that I'd stopped using AltBinz (free version) because it was saving corrupted files. I came back here to see if anyone had any response to that and the entire thread seems to be gone. Why?

You implied that AltBinz was corrupting files and not reporting it which is not true (always ends up as hw/mem problem) and they you told us that you have moved on to another program.

So that was cause to delete the entire thread? Since posting that message, I gave AltBinz another try and got three more corrupt files that weren't reported as such in the log.

Just out of curiosity, what would be your response if after several days of using a different program, I don't have any more unexplained corrupt files?

I mean, if I still get corrupt files, even though the other program doesn't report any errors, then the problem is most likely in my system, but if all the problems go away when using another program, that would point to a problem with AltBinz, wouldn't it?

Or look at it this way. If no1 else reported the same problem for the 3+ years that 0.25.0 exists or that anyone else can reproduce the same problem what does that point to? Alt.Binz developing bad feelings for you?
Can you reproduce the same result on the same files everytime?
In the past when those kind of random problems occured, it was ALWAYS hw related.

But to finish the story, continue using whatever program works for you.
