SETUP ---> Connection --> Proxy
...ive checked the "HTTP Proxy / Firewall (search engines)"
and entered "127.0.0.1" as the address and 1088 as the port.
this is forwards my http search requests to my ssh tunnel using the program "Bitvise Tunneler". However, using any of the search engines, i get no results, and an error message saying "Error during transfer".
so, i went to Bitvises log, and saw the request it recieved..
it says
"(unrecognized proxy protocol) connection from 127.0.0.1 failed: Unsupported client protocol (first byte: P)."
now... also having PuTTY on my machine, i logged into the same proxy, and i get the same error message "error during transfer"
the problem isnt with Bitvise or PuTTY
i know the proxy works, because i can browse firefox at the same time.
any idea why i cant proxy my searches ?
