When running alt.binz, clicks I make seem temporary ?
« on: December 02, 2007, 02:13:54 pm »
Almost impossible to describe in a subject line, but with every version of a.b I have run , right from the early days up to 0.27, whenever I click a button while the app is downloading, the setting seems to revert after a few seconds.

Probably best explained with examples ...

When I set the speed limit, after anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds, the value reverts back to no limit.

When I click pause, all the articles finish, and then after a few seconds the pause button unhighlights itself, and downloads resume.

When I click connect with live connections in place, they all disconnect as expected. Then after a few seconds the Connect button highlights itself and the connections are made again.

Now either I am mad, or this is expected behaviour, or I am so missing the point somewhere.

Really looking forward to being enlightened.

Cheers.

simple disable scheduler ;)

scheduler button is highlighted right? maybe you have set Alt.Binz to auto push Scheduler Button (setup ->Misc) Scheduler overrides all settings you mentioned

Cool - that was it :)

Trouble is I do actually use the scheduler - I stop DL between 6PM and 11PM weekdays to stay off my ISP radar for heavy usage during peak time.

As there any way I can keep scheduler active, but still keep control of alt.binz, especially the use of download limit ?

I suppose I could request a feature "allow scheduler bandwidth setting override from a.b main screen" ;)

Ta,

2 options:

- disable it when you don't need it or
- set limit directly in setup->scheduler

Yeah, I can probably work with a combination of those two.

Thanks, cr4zyfr4g :)

It's already there and it's called Scheduler button. Just 'uncheck' it when you want to 'override' it
