I have a comcast 6MB connection... I am using newshosting(dot)com with 8 threads. SHouldn't i be getting more than 520/kbs?

As you''ve been able to read, i seem to have the same problem. I think nobody really know how to solve the problem.
If you find the cause, plz help me out too.

Using strictly metric bandwidth conversion:
6 Mbps = 6000 Kbps = 750 KB p/s
That's your maximum. Find out if there's any traffic-shaping by your ISP or ask them to test your line, try an SSL server, talk to Newshosting, use more threads, etc. etc.
You can rest assured that alt.binz does nothing to limit your d/l speed. It will give you the maximum you are getting from your service providers.
