Normally (with another newsreader) public.teranews.com gives me a couple of 400 errors until it lets me in, then it gives me about 50 megabytes of downloads, then it starts giving 430 errors on the remaining posts (probably in order to prevent my software from automatically reconnecting).
On alt.binz though it gives the 430 errors immediately after successful connection. Does anyone know what causes this?
One theory I have is, that the server may feel attacked, because alt.binz immediately retries connecting after a 400 error (although in setup a "delay between connection retries" of 10 seconds is set) resulting in a short flood of connection attempts. Is there a way to have it make a short pause before reconnecting in order to test this theory?

For that server only, I have configured my other newsreader to send the GROUP command before ARTICLE or BODY.

Try: Setup -> Server -> Select Group.

"Select Group" does not change anything. It just gives me additional "Failed selecting (group name)" messages. The 430 still immediately occurs.

I am stupid. The group does not exist on the server. That's all.
