I've been using alt.binz (0.25.0) for quite a while and have been happy with the performance. Ever since I upgraded to Win 7 (from Vista) I have noticed errors (hang-ups requiring re-boots, error messages stating that altbinz has stopped working, and an occasional BSOD) that only occur if I have left alt.binz running for a while. Are there any known issues with this older version that would be rectified if I upgraded? I'd be happy to donate IF I can feel confident that my issues would be resolved.
Are there Win 7 specific changes in the current version of alt.binz?
Thanks,
Ski

Not that I noticed in the changelogs.

Since you've been using Alt.Binz "for quite a while and have been happy with the performance" so far with no benefit to the developer, I'd guess that a donation would be in order in any case :P. As for your question, there have been many stability & performance improvements to Alt.Binz since 0.25.0, including options for article caching, process throttling, etc:

But whether they'll solve your problem or not is hard to predict, as we don't know what your problem actually *is*. A possible clue: the likelihood of Alt.Binz causing a BSOD is virtually nil, so I'd look at your drivers first (the usual culprits for these), particularly network drivers. This is after going through the usual trouble-shooting steps of reading your Log, temporarily switching off anything that might be interfering with Alt.Binz, including AV, firewall, etc., watching the Alt.Binz process for CPU & mem consumption, etc. Many peeps have been running Alt.Binz without any probs at all on Windows 7 since the first betas.
