Alt.Binz wont open when downloading

I have a problem with Alt.Binz v0.31.1 but i also had it with previous versions.
When i have Alt.Binz open when not leeching the program is working fast i can open the menu's and minimize and maximize.

but when i open a NZB file and start downloading Alt.Binz becomes very slow and is almost not responding to minimizing or maximizing,
the program just hangs and if i wait long enough part of the program is visible but overlaps with other screens.
If i wait long enough, like lets say 3/4 minutes (sometimes longer) the program opens, but i cant click on any functions within the program.
It seems like Alt.Binz is taking all my CPU usage, but when i minimize all screens and open a different program or browse the internet that is still working correctly.
I was hoping a fresh reinstall would solve the problem but it did not.

I have:
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2200+
memory: 2 GB DDR2
Graphics Card: Radeon X1650
Alt.Binz v0.31.1

The first thing to do is download 0.31.2 which should give you better performance on decoding, and allow your machine to keep up with your download speed.

The second thing you can try is tweaking the thread priorities via Setup -> Miscellaneous #2.  You can also lower your download speed until you find the optimal balance of speed and performance.  If you lower your speed *right* down and you're still having issues, then the problem is something else.

Is that via remote deskop? SSL?

Thanks for answer looks like latest version makes the problem a it smaller.

I will try to play with thread priority and speed settings
