Just a heads up, one thing i didn't notice and thought i had a speed problem is double check the amount of connections you have set on your primary server, if you don't set that to higher than 1, it won't max out your pipeline on only 1 connection. Make sure you bump it up accordingly.

If your ng provider gives you 20 channels, use 10 of them, and check if you're maxing your bandwitch. Don't hammer

Good idea hecks, here is one that might be useful



Tired of downloading password protected rars? (Usually your favorite TV shows)

Make your search and grab the oldest !
Usually the guy uploading password protected content downloads it, rar and password it, then reupload in different groups, often with the same original poster name
Don't trust the poster name, don't trust the group, trust the age of the lady

One of the usenet search engines also show's when the rars are password protected.. but don't know wich anymore. Always use different ones. Would be nice if Alt.binz also supported it.

of course not

my point is, if with 10 threads you get full speed, don't push harder.
Your hardware will be less stressed (CPU, hard drive) and altbinz will be smoother

Sorry to resurrect this old thread again, but i've got a question about unraring. Is there a way to use multipar or any external program to unrar while downloading?
