Title: Alt.Binz Windows 7 x64 Support
Post by: Psychodad on September 15, 2009, 05:40:18 pm
Hello,

Im new to this board and new in usenet too.
I have the new windows 7 64bit installed on my computer and use the free alt.binz 0.25 client.
But i have serious problems, up to 3 from 4 downloads are damaged and can seldom be repaired with the parity files.
If i check it with quickpar, very often the "possible checksum error" accures.

So, my question is very simple i think. Did anyone have some experience in using the free or the latest release of the client on a windows 7 64bit OS? Or is it possible to test the newest client for 1 Day or something to check it out?

Thx for our help!

rgds christian

First check you machine. Most likely you have bad memory. Both 0.25 and latest version is tested on W7 x64 on 100mbit connection. Works without problems.

I would recommend downloading http://www.memtest86.com/ (http://www.memtest86.com/) and creating a bootable CD to check your memory. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to re-seat your memory and make sure your bios settings are in check. I'm running Win 7 x64 with latest release and it is rock solid. Win 7 also has it's own memory diagnostic, but memtest is way better.
