Title: AltBinz doesn't try to connect
Post by: flsh on November 25, 2009, 05:24:18 pm
I downloaded and extracted the latest version of AltBinz and started using it. I logged in, filled my server details and connection speed and downloaded an NZB file. Whenever I press connect nothing happens and the log stays empty. I deleted AltBinz and extracted it again but it didn't solve it. Tried rebooting to no avail  :(
Anything I am doing wrong?

Your exe is modified - virus?

You are right, it was a virus. Just scanned it with avast to make sure :(
I'm guessing downloading again would help, or would it just become infected again? It is pretty weird as this is a fresh OS install and all I've done is install drivers and the likes :(

I have the same problem... click "connect", nothing happens, even though I have files in the DL queue.

Doesn't try to connect, nothing shows up in the logs.

Running Win7 x64. No virus, at least according to AVG and Trend Micro.

MD5(altbinz.exe)= 3cbd26a9279b3b649620994afe0d8fc6

Any ideas?

Deleting the "misc" config dir and redoing all settings solved the problem.

Out of curiosity, where was your misc directory, and what did you do just before the problems started? Did you update Alt.Binz by overwriting the .exe? Wondering if/how altbinz.exe loses read/write access to the user directory on Win 7 x64 in certain conditions.
