Title: altbinz.exe corrupt file
Post by: kennyq on May 20, 2009, 09:48:45 am
Hello, while I was downloading this file: http://nzbmatrix.com/nzb-details.php?id=446452&hit=1
during the download I got this message G:\Documents and settings\Administrator\Desktop\altbinz0300\misc\queue.abz.tmp is corrupt and unreadable. please run chkdsk utility

Now everytime I start altbinz I get that message and everytime I try and download something I get that message then altbinz closes. I've loaded a lot of files to be downloaded and don't think I could find them again. Is there away to fix this without installing altbinz again.

I've got the 0.30.0 version which I downloaded from this site.

u could try the following:
go to misc folder there should be files like queue and copyofque and the acording tmp's copy these to somewhere for backup. then remove the corupted file and remove the "copyof" from the copyofqueue version...

davidq666, I think you're onto something here. But when I try to delete the file it won't allow me to saying: cannot delete queue.abz The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Is there any other way to delete it. Or maybe I could copy these files then uninstall altbinz reinstall it then overwrite the misc folder with the files I've copied? Would that work.

yeah I'll give that a try. I'm going to scan the HDD then do it and see if the problem is still there. thanks for your help I'll post later on today and let you know how it went.

If you can't delete the file you could try unlocker: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
It only works on a 32bit version of Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista though.
